A poem of Thanks from 2008

Thanksgivings Day

As we have sat around the table.

Have we gave thanks as we were able?

A roof up above us.

A car for transportation, not a bus.

A floor under our feet.

Why should we weep?

Some have no feet, some have no eyes to shed a tear.

Food in our cabinets, food upon our table...

Have we remembered our blessings today???

Clothes upon our backs, shoes upon our feet, friends by our side.

Our bodies showing the evidence of plenty....as we are too wide.

Laugh or cry, smile or frown

We have an abundance, someone blessed this town.

Thanksgiving is but one day...

Why are we only ready to invite family & friends this one day to share in our blessings, who can say?

All the year through we hold our blessings close by to us, never sharing or caring why...

But one day we set aside to see someone wants to share in our blessings too.

A thanks that is hidden away and not shared is a wasted blessing indeed.

Take time each day, to remember to thank the God of heaven for all the blessings he has given to you.

We are a nation blessed by God and this is true.

So Happy Thanksgiving... and may you remember to give thanks every day through out the year.

Invite family, and friends and neighbors from far and near,

A blessings a thanks that is trully shared is a blessing indeed.
