Speaking of Heaven, from March 2009

A poem meant to make you think about the choices you are making, to think about eternity.

This was written and published March 9th 2009.

Like I said March 9th, was a pretty productive day.

Where The Roses Never Decay

Smelling the fresh cut rose, you walk away.
Knowing that soon this one too will decay.

The scents in the bottle, smells, oh, so nice.
But often that perfume even itself begins to grow stale.

So you walk away...
Thinking of another place.

Someday you are reminded there is a city where the roses will never decay.
A city where the fresh cut rose will never wither away.

Walking through your city, you think of life as a song.
Then you wonder to who all the shops will belong.

Hearing again the words in the song. "A city where the Rose's never fade"
So you wonder will all the gifts in the shops be paid.

Will you shop in places throughout the city for gifts of delight?
Or instead will you have spent your rewards before it 'twas your night?

Window shopping in heaven, where the roses never fade.
Your mansion it has been made.

But what will your furnishings be.
What to your home will you bring?

Our treasure's we are told, do not on this world hold.
Place your treasure's where they can not be stole.

But my friend have you discarded the treasures that are best.
By settling for the standard of the rest?

Will you window shop in heaven?
Because neglect your treasure, you did spend your leaven.

Your treasure it will grow.
But for your treasure to grow, love you must know.

For this to the Book of Life, must you go.
A city is made not of roses, but of people and shops. This you should know.

An eternity you have to spend.
Will your mansion in heaven be one of splendor and delight?

Or will your mansion be battered and worn?

A city with streets of gold.
Now this has been told...
