This poem is about sudden unexpected death, about grieving.

When the Wind Blows Over the Snow

Stumbling along, where do we go?
Tapping a cane, walking with care through the melting snow.

Seems just yesterday, was the first snowflake, the first snowfall.
Covered are your footprints, you have left us, after all.

Time stands still, as the wind blows over your covered steps.

Tomorrow the wind will blow yet again.
Covering my steps before the snow melts away, leaving only a vanished stain.

So soon life it has ended.
Time they say the heart will bend.

Yet, the wind has blown over your vanished steps.
Soon the broken heart will loose step.

Time does not all wounds heal.
Memories faded, soon reveal.

The broken heart has just gone away.
Now the wind blows over your step even this day.

Time may heal, broken hearted sorrow's.
But it will be in another's tomorrow.

Soon from the cane will the melted snow be wiped away.
No longer will the tears from the heart stray.

The tears that have strayed, you will find in a crystal bottle upon a wall.
For you we can no longer call.

Last steps you have taken once, and for all.
You have answered that final call.

The wind blows over your long vanished footprints. The wind it blows...

There are no stains left on the ground.
The cane is no where to be found.

On another ground do you walk this day.
The wind has blown this way....
