Hurricane Irene's Flooding Homes

Hurricane Irene

Slowly flooding our dwellings

Hurricane Irene
Hurricane Irene caused a lot of flood damage to many people out on the east coast. This storm was a slow moving storm.)

Summer Only a Passing Memory a poem from 2011

Summer time is almost over once again, it comes and goes faster every year, carrying away memories we'll never know again.)

Hurricane Irene I See (a poem from 2011)

Hurricane Irene I See

Hurricane Irene I see

Waves wind and sand

Coming soon to land

Mass evacuations,

Shelter's opened up; some say we can bring our pets too

Hurricane Irene I see

Dances so slowly along our coast
Dancing right up to say hi, swelling waves of water soon begin to boast

Talking a waltz it seems as slowly steadily she comes

Hurricane Irene I see

Dancing along, waltzing along, laughing as we flee

Chuckling as we shut down, and begin to pray

Lingering for a bit not so far from the fault line, that shook but a few days ago

Slow and steady, pretending to lose ground, turning again, with remarkable grace

Hurricane Irene I see

A name of beauty, a name of peace,

Yet broken limbs, power outages, torn roofs bear record, Irene steps

Racing away, vacationer's and residents the same, flee inland

News reports entail the bloody details, the aftermath of a hurricane

Waiting, we wait to see, just how badly will we fair?

Hurricane Irene I see

While some may remain steadfast, defiant, unmoving other's race from her gaze

Yet, still she lingers but a moment a tear falling from her cheek

The wind captures the silver tears as she weeps, brushing away her shame she smiles again

Remembering again why she's here, she spreads her wings and begins to waltz along a coastal plain.

Lifting her feet she spins around, lifting her arms she waves as she knows she's doing her duty.

A duty to clear, to freshen to renew, to give a fresh new hope to those who've lost so much

Irene's wake I see,

Economic collapse some in vain proclaim

Yet, Irene dances along knowing this is not true for surely her footprints must be cleaned.

Her whispered words must be wiped away, yards must be cleaned, spruced up and cleaned, and roads

 must be cleared
Irene's wake I see,
As she turns once and again, I see that still it is true today, "all things work together for good for

those who love God"

As she spins once and again, she says I've done what I could today

I've left you with many jobs to do

Irene's wake I see

So much clean up, so many mouths to feed

Hurricane Irene, truly there is a reason you've came this way

Turning a nations heart back to God perhaps, reminding us that we are insignificant alone

Reminding us that God alone is able to heal our land, if we but repent from our wicked ways, and

turn from our sins.

Hurricane Irene stands slowly swirling about churning up the waters reminding us that people, are

much more important than the vanity of materialism that we each chose to collect...

Hurricane Irene I see,

Swirling around, slowly waltzing about dancing not far from the fault line,

Swishing the waves so high, reminding us for our neighbors to pray.

Hurricane Irene, I see

Hurricane Irene I See

We complain of no jobs, of no company, of so many things, we pray for all of these so God sends us a storm to dance along our shores to bring us together, to remind us to pray...

(I wrote this poem after the article that I wrote was rejected for publication interestingly though I was paid 8 dollars for the exclusive article that was not published. The poem above was a performance or pageview only pay though. So I guess it all worked out.)

East Coast Earthquake (link to article I wrote in 2011)

An unusual experience for most people who live on this side of the United States is an earthquake with enough strength to rattle dishes, or cause objects to fall into the floor.

A Trintia from 2011.

This was a Poetry Assignment: Write a Trintia.

Tritina

Have I told you about Jesus?

Has another perhaps told you of God's love?

Have I hid from you the greatest door?

Has my life forever become a stumbling block, hiding that door?

Have I through my life forever hidden from you Jesus?

Has perhaps another shown to you God's love?

Have I hid from you the only one that ever did truly love?

Has my witness to you forever slammed shut that door?

Have I cast a stumbling block before you, have I prevented you from seeing Jesus?

Does my life proclaim Jesus, can you see His love, can you see me as I walk through that door?

Have I Failed You, Have I Been A Stumbling Block, A Hindrance For You...?

Postulate, Comtemplate, Conclusively
At Last Sadly Confirm

Today we grieve free

Sunsets over fake friendship

Walk away no words

An Alliance Holds True

Twilight reflects coming doom

Alliances hold

(7/24/2011
The American Soldier stands ever ready to defend many, even as the days of the American dwindle and fade, even as Americans daily lose many personal freedoms, still the soldier stands true...)
Politicians, Pick Pocket's They Are One and the Same
One and the Same
Trees stand stock, full lone

Ceilings of unending debt

Pick pockets make laws
(7/24/2011
It is criminals who make the laws, stealing the American hard earned money to ship away for some fancy new jet, for some high and lofty goal, while Americans become homeless, and begin to slowly die the death, due to economic collapse)
Everything Comes Out in the Wash
Sunshine transparent

Forget-me-not's, walk on you

Pretend 'till light shines

People who pretend something long enough soon forget what was really true. They are often surprised when their lies are found out.)

Tulip Theology

Busy Body Stands Alone Looking for Another to Blame

Wax filled hives, dive deep

Bee's buzz, tulips shimmer white

Fearing none you sing

(7/24/2011
Restrain is non-existant in the "TULPIT" theology, it is deadly, it leads to the grave, those unaware sing believing they are safe, yet into the depths they may one day find themselves, it is a cruel error)

Never Stay to Be Indoctrinated by Known Error
The Curse it is Truly "TULIP Theology"

A tulip conveys
Wish washy theology
Long we did listen

There are some who hold to the error of TULIP Calvinism, it is a error, and sadly there are some who have listened long lengths of time, before seeing it's true fatalism.)

About People Going in Circle's

Known by Your Fruit
True Friend or Busy-Body
Broken promises

Dried up roots no fruit

Barracuda's Lie
Look in the Mirror

Screaming you lie, still
Barracuda's devour me
Your words tell your soul

Have You as I Found Trust Betrayed?
Do You Know Your Enemies? Really?

Enemies abound

Mistaken trust soon revealed

About Writing, About Life

Haiku day drifting
Sands shift, winds change, sun shines in

A Wasted Life

Clocks smile as bees buzz

Turning out empty buckets

Idleness, careless

Time keeps on going on, whether we make good choices or bad. Idleness, and carelessness work hand in hand to create a wasted life.)

Today rings silent

Company Clean

Busy as a bee
Clear, stack and clean everything

Company coming

Middle-age Worn-out Dreams

Wilting tomatoes

Dried up vines, speak louder now

Fruitless reveals roots

A True Friend Walks in While All Other's Walk Out
Hurry Fast as Many Enemies Hide

Hurry fast please

Buzzing wasps fly swiftly now

True friendship walks in

It's hard sometimes to know who is truly a friend and who is not, an easy way to know is who never walks away, and who lends a hand when others lend only a cruel word, and a slanderous report.)
