Are You Watching Another's Testimony?
Or Remembering Your Own?
An ocean between us, distance so far, yet so near.
Time past, further away than the distant roar of the ocean that once sounded in my ear-
Life and love all seems to happen so fast yet so slow.
Taking for granted what we can see, we forget to fast, sealing away what we know.
Believing ourselves of upmost importance, we seek our own way.
Believing ourselves justified we forget for other's we must pray.
Holding tight to a grudge, we fight to hold our stay.
Never remembering another still yet, believes their innocence the same each day.
Walking in ignorance, we dance.
Believing our hands clean, believing ourselves a victim or circumstance.
Looking out our dirty windows, seeing another prosper, we look to slay.
Forgetting the business that is ours that we must wrap our hand around a washrag, and clean away the stains, that we might see the sun's bright shining rays', it is for the one in the mirror we must first pray.
So fast to see a fault, so fast to assume, we hurt those who already are broken and down.
Quick to pass a sentence down, we forget who once was the talk of the town
Living in a shell of flesh we forget that others too live within the same sinful container.
Forgetting it is the vapor, the soul that in eternity will reap the benefits of the retainer.
Our lives as a swift moving vapor soon will from this earth pass into eternity.
Will we then still yet believe in the lies that today bring us such material security?
So many times we look at others, and see only the surface, never truly seeing the heart.
Hypocritical we see only the faults of another, forgetting our own part.
Believing ourselves to be better within our own selves we reject the finished work that is our only hope.
Rejecting the finished work how is it any wonder this life we can barely cope?
Turn around, step up, step out, and remember, don't turn the nose.
As another is once you were, have you forgotten the final brilliant fragrant everlasting rose?
Remember who you were, remember that once you were as the ones whom you despise.
Thread carefully, walk softly, speak in wisdom, redeeming the times, and accept that which is wise.
Give hope to those you can, pray for those who hate.
Remember forever that God is never too late, never even late.
The sun shines on the just, and the unjust, smiling and waiting to see.
Waiting to see who will believe on the only one who laid His life down on a tree.
The rain falls on the just, and the unjust, crying and waiting to see who'll see.
Waiting to see who'll see the one who forever will wash away all the tears from you and me.
The snow falls on the just, and the unjust, covering the dirt, waiting to see who'll see.
Waiting to see who'll take hold of the only one who cares enough to cover all our filthy stains, even those we've kept secret, both you and me...
The leaves change, the leaves sparkle and shine, soon falling to the ground, waiting to see who'll see.
Waiting to see you'll accept the only one who can give life to that which was dead, waiting to see who'll accept the only way to be free...
Spring flowers dancing in the sun, waiting to see...
Who'll forever walk in fields of daisies, streets of gold, forever in His love abiding free...
An ocean apart, it is never so far, as a soul that from His love has separated eternally.
Remember my friend; He died for both you and me.
It is by grace, through faith alone, nothing more, nothing less; a complete and finished work was His.
Loving us even as in our ignorance we walked along this world in blissfully mindless or what without Him we'd be sure to miss.
Remember my friend, He died for you, and He died for me.
He did all this before we ever were born; He died for all our sin, that we might through Him be free.
Hard this world may be for many, but my friend there is something to remember and remember well.
This world it is not the end, prepare your soul for surely it is the next that truly matters most, for it is there that we'll live forever, either in Heaven or in Hell.
Only two residents in eternity, one is a paradise beyond compare.
The other is a torment many will share.
Forgiveness comes easy when you remember the one who has forgiven you even as in ignorance you did dance.
Tomorrow, maybe too late, today is all you have, the one who hung on the cross He is your only hope, your only chance.
This life it is a vapor a thin wisp of fog, soon to be forgotten, as the fire melts all this away.
My friend it is for the lost we must pray.
My dearest friend it is for the lost that we must work to keep a good testimony.
An ocean between us is nothing compared to a testimony that is a phony...
