Father's Day Poem
Yesterday, we went walking along the streets of Dover.
Today, I've heard the oceans waves carry your ashes, all over.
Tomorrow, perhaps, I'll see you as once again you explain the value of some clear stone.
Thrilled once again to show us the stones so precious you once did in a little bag own.
Except in heaven I expect these priceless treasures, and beauty it'll be common place.
Today, I really do not know what's become of my space.
But in eternity, I'll know if along the crystal river you've found a home.
Perhaps, you have found a resting place for a rod of silver and gold, a perfect peaceful hour, to tell us where you did roam.
Today, I can't see you.
Tomorrow it's never so close as when the night is the darkest blue.
Forever I expect there will be a tale told.
Resting from this world of chores, who'll ever grow sick and old?
Daddy, you loved to fish it is true.
Daddy, you loved to take a hike, in the forests of this world, to show us the "Little Dipper" in the midnight skies of deepest blue.
You often chewed on a blade of grass, as you walked along.
Many things you were, and many things you were not, but still you rose once to show us the early morning birds' song.
Daddy, you're gone now, your newest business venture forgotten, as it was your appointed time.
Daddy, I hope you know that many things left unsaid it was not my crime.
Words left unsaid sometimes are best, but remember eternity has no end.
So perhaps, somewhere along that golden highway, the road'll towards me once again bend.
We'll stop by some mansion along the way, and have one more cup of tea.
Dear Daddy, did you ever know that for your soul many did plea?
Daddy, this will be your first Father's Day in Heaven, perhaps, a celebration, you'll attend.
Forgiveness it is a must, remember your words to me, we'll meet again in the end...
