Memorial Day Reminder
Everyone looks around
Looking to see who'll stand their ground
Who'll stand up, who'll fight
Fight for a country, fight for a people, hold the freedom light
Fighting for a material world, a diminishing world, a fallen race
Many hero's we applaud, yet, their tears lie hidden behind many a gravestone face
Hero's truly our mortal soldiers are, hero's are those who would stand
Stand for what's right, believing in life, liberty and happiness for all, and lifting high freedom's hand.
Battle's rage furious all around the world, as yet another young soldier tears are hidden
Tears hidden, as life, liberty and happiness if forever forbidden
Forbidden forever is happiness to all those who attain victory in this world, yet reject the one who is the dividing sword.
My friend make no mistake, those who have battled and died as soldiers in this world are hero's to be respected, remembered and cherished with many an uplifting word.
However my dear, there is another type of soldier who battle's daily for you.
This other soldier my dear battle's not for your limited earthly aspirations, but for your soul that has been condemned to an eternity of rue.
Memorial Day it is set aside special to remember the fallen earthly soldiers who have fought.
My friend is it not a shame when we lie down close our eyes, and forget that it is with a price our freedom it has been bought?
Is it not even more a shame for the Christian who forgets to pray?
To pray every day for the safety and salvation of every soldier who battle's many an earthly affray.
Battling for freedom, for liberty, for pursuit of happiness battling for you
My dear Christian friend can you not take time to remember to lift in prayer every American soldier, who may face a battle, filled with heart-wrenching bloody rue.
As Memorial Day comes, and you celebrate the holiday, remember someone stayed your place
Fought your fight, that you might enjoy your freedom today, stood your ground, that you might have space
My dear Christian friend, look at the weary veterans, look at the soldier bloody and scarred, see their pain, see their tears, see their love.
Look again, and remember that beyond the uniform is a living soul, that will dwell forever in some eternal abode.
My friend, there are only two places for the eternal soul to live, only two.
Heaven or Hell, the choice it is an individual choice, it must be made today; silence of Christ's love will forever leave unprepared a soldier, who stood steady for you.
Listen carefully, listen well
Life and death, it is sudden it is swift, and many a soul will be found in Hell.
Take time daily to remember, remember lost loved ones, and many a friend
But remember too, to pray for those whose lives are on the line, as it is you they live to defend
Make this Memorial Day, not one of drinking, partying and entertaining, but a day of prayer for all those who stand steady through the long and stormy nights.
Pray for those who stand their souls unguarded, unprotected as from this world their soul may wander into an eternity of no security, of no welcoming lights.
War it is horrible, it is terrible, but a soldier who fights with soul unprepared, unguarded is a soldier who will enter into the eternal horrible lake that is consumed with much flame.
If my dear friend, you call upon "His" Holy Name, why then do you not linger and pray, my dear, every unguarded, unprepared, unprotected soldier who falls reflects the non-praying Christians shame--
Memorial Day it is a day set aside to remember, this it is true.
However, my dear it should also be a day set aside to pray for those who stand ready, and willing to die for you.
Pray especially that no soldier dies without having heard and seen a clear presentation of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, especially if to this truth you claim.
You see, my friend, many a courageous soldier will die, it is the nature of war, but no soldier need die" the second death", if only the gospel would be clearly lived, clearly proclaimed, if only the soldier would believe upon "His" Holy Name --
Acts 16:30-31
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
