Halloween Terror
Halloween Poem

The night was still.
No sounds were heard; lingering memories brought a chill...
Time frozen, as blood slowly spread across the ground...

Too late now, death was silently stalking, waiting for the last heart beat to pound ...
All was fun and games.
Plenty of time to play, "oats" to sow, running fast in the tracks of all the most popular names...
Life it was full, no time to change lanes...

Another day, another time perhaps we'd listen, just not today.
It's time for a Halloween party; "trick or treat" don't get in our way...
No time to listen, no time to hear, how that day stands frozen in time, death smiles a soul will soon pay-

It was just a party it was meant to be fun, it was not supposed to be this way...
Costumes, and loud music, scary faces, it was just another Halloween Day.
Laughing, drinking, smoking, mocking those who for you did pray-

Time and shadows like ghost run across your mind.
Party done, got to run, dropping one last can, thinking it felt great to unwind...
Grabbed the car keys stumbling just a little, pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor, never looking behind.

Shadows, and ghost, goblins, and "trick or treats' ", Halloween parties, long past.
Lying in the shadows, car over turned, remembering someone at long last.
Death standing near, no longer wearing the mask...

Glancing in terror, blood running cold...
You see death is walking steady and bold,
Terror uncovered, and for you no hand to hold.

Time frozen but a second, wishing so hard that you would of stayed to pray.
Knowing for you it is too late, your soul drifting away.
Death seen so close, a terror seen only by those who choose to go their own way...

Terror, and tears, mingled together, Halloween horrors, soon too real to be fake.
Blood spilled on the ground, a profession made; true it was not, for this soon you will quake.
Glass sparkling red as your blood flows from your body, pooling into a miniature lake...

Halloween it was fun and games, it wasn't to be taken serious. Better things to do.
To abandon this holiday, no you would not. Inclusive, tolerant too, to condemn this day, you'd not rue.
Sorrow, and pain, it was in to descendants' in time past, a day of evil, forgotten by some it's true.

Shivering one last time you awake, it was but a dream. But in the air hangs a chill...
Looking out your windowpane, you see a shadow walking slowly towards your window sill.
It's not a game, it's not fun, and suddenly you know it is for you death wills...

Watching in terror will you remember for you someone has prayed?
Standing in the gap, intercessory prayer it is needed, for death will soon reveal those who were betrayed.

Someone lied; someone said it was okay, it is just another day.
Just another holiday...fun and games.
We'll call it by another name; we'll dress in costumes not so scary. We'll laugh and play...

Oh, but my friend have you so soon forgotten those who now in graves lay?
Silenced, by time, and distance, a day set aside to taunt, and create fear, an evil day...
Halloween, celebrated, forgetting it's a day many did fear, a day of death, just another day-

Think before your costume you do put on, is this the way?
Before a horror movie your respects pay. Think of the blood that paved your way.
My friend it is no secret, but it is something I think you should know.

The path to hell it is covered in blood, covered so deep, so wide, accountable are all those who go-
But my friend one has gone before you clearing a path, this is important, you should know.
A path has been cleared to set you free, it is a narrow way.

But from the wide and bloody path you must turn. You must repent, and pray.
Follow the one who for you did clear your ransom note, follow the one who left an empty grave.
Halloween is just a day; it's true, just a day.

But it's not a day for the Christian to play.
Halloween it is the day all Christians should repent, and pray...
Intercessory prayer it is needed, Halloween is coming, for whom will you pray?

Oh, Christian from your faith on this day do not stray.
A little candy, a little fun, a little forgetting, it is a high price to pay...
