2010 Let No Tears Fall...a New Year's poetry assignment

This was a poetry assignment, I wrote this in Dec of 2009. Sadly 2010 was a very difficult year.

This was written not too very long before my daddy died, he died in January of 2010.
We went to a lot of funerals in 2010.

2010 Let No Tears Fall


One a penny, two a penny... one hot cross bun...
2009 you're almost done.
2010, a brand New Year, knocking at the door-



But in my mind it's still 2007.
Soon one more will enter Heaven.



2010, a Brand New Year, soon 2009 will be no more-
One potato, two potato, four...
Counting potatoes, counting days, soon some will take the Heaven's tour.



2010 you're fast coming up the path.
2009 you'll soon be as the chaff



2007 so far away, yet ever so near.
So soon are dried a falling tear.



One a penny, two a penny...one potato to throw out-
Turn back the clock, just one more day, we shout.



2007 lays silent. 2008, walked in, lingered a bit, and left.
2009 came so swiftly, we never saw that 2008 had left.



2010 please be the year for which we've prayed.
2010 come a 'quickly but remember our hearts our frayed.
