Your Manner's
They Are Showing
Where are your manners?
Oh where could they be, now don't be perturbed.
Oh where could they be, now don't be perturbed.
But perhaps I'll be so bold.
So bold as to give you a hint-
Now perhaps it will be to you a shiny new mint.
A sweet flavor to you, something that you can use-
-'tis no ruse...
If a witness you must be.
You're manner's need a dusting.
Now, I won't be mean.
It not only one of us who has manner's to clean.
Manners are good, manners are nice, good manners though are best.
If you must consume, remember to share with the rest...
"But I can't afford it..." this is what you say.
And this may be true for you today.
But can you wait.
"But I'm entitled to have my way, it's my fate."
"I didn't say that..."
But my friend it is what written on your hat.
"I'm not wearing a hat..."
My friend, actions speak so loud, I can't hear a word you say.
My friend did you ask someone to pray?
My friend did you get it their way?
My friend did you take it for granted, that you need not to share.
"Why should I share...?"
"Why should I care...?"
My friend you have said, you want to lead others to Christ, one day.
My Friend why is there dismay?
Did you not remember that even Jesus himself did not take it for granted his place?
Jesus the one who showed for you and me, mercy and grace.
Jesus as a servant came to lead the way...
Where have you strayed? Would you perhaps like to pray?
Ask the Lord if what I say is true?
Now don't be blue, it is not only you.
Think the next time you say, "yes, madam, yes, sir..." and all the rest.
Stop and look into the eyes of those you say you love the best.
Turn around and see who's been watching you.
When you have consumed what has been true?
If you cannot share, why do you indulge? There is something you should know.
If others you desire to lead, it is in the footsteps of Christ you must go.
Placing your footsteps into the footprints of Christ you'll find the way.
Never stray, don't step to the side, don't look back, there is only one way.
One way, and only one way, this you know is true.
But my friend it is your manners that will be your rue.
Compassion and consideration for others means there is a time to wait.
Now my friend I've given you a hint, it is time for you to pray, please don't delay.
My words are true.
A ministry you may have it's true, but a stronger witness can be for you.
A stronger testimony it's true. Perhaps you'll win someone today.
Now please don't delay, for I have shown you a better way.
Your manners are not only your words, but your deeds.
It is true we all have needs.
But my friend to be in a ministry to win, a little wisdom brightens the way.
My friend I have tried my best, now it's time for you to pray.
Pray and seek the Lord, for he wishes you to be his best.
A ministry a testimony it can be like all the rest.
Or you can have a testimony, and a witness that many will soon profess.
Not it is up to you, I have done my best.
I love you, if I did not care.
These words I'd not share.
All is won; all is lost on our personal testimony.
Take these words to heart my friend; you'll know who is a phony.
Someone loves you, someone cares, and it is because of love He died.
But my friend your manner's they are showing; now I have tried.
Your testimony it is showing,
Your personal witness it is glowing.
Are you leading the way?
Or are you turning others away?
Do others see your reflection in your testimony?
Do others see Christ reflection, or something too phony?
Do you wish to win?
Or are you just trying to get in?
Are you showing the way, are you following in His footsteps, today?
Or are you turning others away?
My friend your manner's they are showing. No one's hearing what you say.
If you wish to lead you must know the way.
How can you lead, running so far ahead-?
Can't you see many are already walking dead?
Soon they'll fall into hell.
"But I'm entitled you claim..." My friend you have something to sell.
How can you sell when you haven't stayed faithful and true?
My words soon you'll learn have been meant just for you.
"But..., but..." I..."
Now don't worry I have only told you to try.
I have not condemned you, because we are all guilty at times.
But my friend when you are on the front lines, this should not be your crime.
Manners my friend, look at your manners my friend.
It is your manners that will lead others in the end.
Your testimony my friend it is only as strong, as when you learn the art of delay.
With these words I leave you to contemplate and pray.
