Easter Bunny
Your Not Funny

Easter Bunny,silly Easter Bunny.
Gathering eggs, filling them with sweets, and honey.
Easter Bunnies, decorated so colourful and neat.
Hopping from house to house, leaving so much candy. It is a great feat.

Easter Bunny, silly Easter Bunny.
Laughing at you, laughing at me, as his basket he fills with all our money.
Easter Bunny, silly Easter Bunny.
Your not so funny.

Easter Bunny, Easter Bunny.
Hiding his deceit in a little treat, filled with honey.
Caring not, that he has stolen this day.
Making the world believe it is a day for play.

Grabbing Easter Baskets, off the shelves.
We rush home to indulge ourselves.
Sunshine so bright, a day so beautiful we see.
Decorations all around. Candy for you, and for me.

Forgetting that it is not Easter that the Christian is to celebrate.
Easter is but a pagan day, of fertility.
How Resurrection Day could be tied to such a day, it is a shame.
The Easter Bunny, laughs at you, and me, cause he knows his name.
Laughing at you, Laughing at me.
As into his Easter Basket, our money flees.

Laughing as he knows our focus is on the candy, and new dress.
Laughing as he knows we'll have no rest.

Easter a pagan day, it was. A pagan day it is.
Ignorance for the Christian it is not bliss.
If celebrate Easter you must do.
Then remember it was not Easter we celebrate, but the Resurrection Day.
If it were not for Resurrection morning we'd all be as stones.
Standing all alone.

Mr. Easter Bunny, your deceit, it is not funny.
Hopping from home to home, spreading lies sweetened with honey.

It makes no difference what you say.
Mr. Easter Bunny, it was not for you "He" came this way.

Easter Baskets,Bunny rabbits, sticky candy.
Wasn't it handy for this day to be the one chosen, just for you and me.

The devil may of laughed, thinking that the time had past.
Believing his deciet would last.

Now at the empty tomb the devil does tremble.
Covering in a costume be runs to decieve as many as will be gullible.

A day of fertility, it was, a pagan day it is true.
Resurrection morning it was the day of the devil's rue.
Now the devil he does run.
Fearing as he knows who has won.

No more laughing, as he works to decieve you and me.
The Easter Bunny costume it is getting a little tight, now you see.

So now the Easter Bunny, must run, he must hurry. For the hour it is late.
Soon, he'll meet his fate.

Celebrate Easter if you must, but remember it was on this day the battle was won.
Remember the ransom of was paid in full on Resurrection morning, by One.
It was not the Easter Bunny who loved you.
Jesus Christ it was who loved you true.
