Pocketful of Posies.. a poem from 2009

A poem I wrote in 2009 about life, about death, about staying together. This poem I wrote back in April of 2009.

Pocketful of Posies..
And We All Fall Down

Hold my hand.
As I hold your hand.

Together we'll stand.
Grab my hand,

I can not stand.
I'll grab your hand.

Pick a pocketful of posies.
One for you, one for me, if you please.

Please don't sneeze.

Run around.
Turn around.

Don't touch the ground.

Hold on, I'm falling.
Hold on, someone's calling.

Hold on, keep a stalling.

Hold my hand.
We'll run through out this land.

Together we'll stand.

A pocketful of posies

Please don't sneeze.
If you please, try not to wheeze.

A tisket, a tasket.
Soon a red and yellow basket.

Together we'll follow the casket.
A tisket, a tasket,

a green and yellow basket.
A pocketful of posies, soon we'll all get.

Too much stress, too many bills,
Too little rest, too many ills,

We all fall down, have you written you last Will?

Come and play with me.
It'll be just you and me, running by the sea.

No more posies,will there be.

A pocketful of posies,

One for you, and one for me, can't you see?
We all fall down. No longer will we run by the sea.

Take my hand,
I'll take your hand.

Together we'll leave this land.

A pocketful of posies,
One for you, one for me.
And we all have fallen down, can't you see?
