"We'll Be Done", a poem from 2009

We'll Be Done

Soon we'll be done.
The house will be clean.
Soon we'll be able to have fun.

The grass will still be green.
Tossing the clutter, we'll be free.

Soon we'll go away.
Just you and me.
Skipping across many fields, we'll play.

Bills all finally paid.
We'll have time to rest.
Restored health, having made the grade.

Laughing now for we are blessed.

Soon we'll be done.
Chores finished, bills paid.
Resting soon in a field, no trials to wade.
Laughing as the light out shines the sun.

All our burdens laid down.
Released from the laws of gravity, we'll skip along those golden roads.
All our bills paid long ago in a far away town.
Life for the mortal flesh over as we have laid down the final heavy loads.

Life restored, beginning again. Happy and free.
It'll be such a blessing.
Walking along the streets of gold, with you beside of me.
Walking, running, skipping, shouting, never pouting, we'll sing.

Life will never be such a burden as it has been in our earthly home.
Burdens will have been shed.
We'll never more roam.
Having followed the Good Shepherd in all the ways He led.

We'll meet at the gate.
Walking hand in hand, we'll find a great delight in our heavenly home.
Prepared just for you, and me. Life will be heavenly, everything will be great.
Never again will we moan.

All our work here will be done.
Soon and very soon, our clutter and mutterings will be gone.
Life will be cheerful and fun.
Walking ever forward to the one who was won.
