The Eighty's Decade

The 80's was a decade of turmoil for me.
Fleeing cross country,
Family issues you see.

Mt. St.Helen's blowing her top.
Making false friends seemed to never stop.
Life spun like a twirling top.

The eighty's decade.
It was so long ago, many memories have decayed.
The eighty's generation had it made.

Life was fun.
There was so much to be done.

We knew we had won.
A lifetime now, has come and gone.

Excitement, long since past remembered only in song.
For the days of youth we now long.

The eighties was the decade to take a stand.
The eighties it was the generation that lent a helping hand.
The eighties friendships so true, have they truly faded from this land?

Today, my friends from the eighties where have they all gone?
For those days how I sometimes long.
Yet, remembering it is better those times are forever gone.

Faded memories,are so much better.
Than the realities of how things really were, it was not better.
Today, times have changed, perhaps it is still not better.

The eighties it was so long ago.
Forgetting is easy to do, you know.
Remembering those days not so long ago,

-we forget how it really was-

So long ago, our memories faded to a dull glow.

The eighties it is a decade that has gone away.
Lost in time are the memories of that day.
Remembering who we were, our hope still stands, so they say.
