The Devil Hears the Rattle

Jesus Christ Has Won the Battle

Rattle, rattle,
Can't you hear the chains rattle?
Stepping forward, stepping towards the one who did deceive.
Hearing the silent steps, you know what it is you'll soon receive.

Rebellion, and pride.
For this, you'll soon on the waves of fire, ride.
Gloating, thinking you knew best.
It is because of you we have found this mess.

To rise above God, is what you wanted to do.
For this rebellion, a price it is due.

Wishing to share your punishment, you came to deceive.
Having transferred your crime of pride to Eve.
You did laugh in glee.
Forgetting too soon, it was for your pride-
that soon in the lake of fire you would reside.

Believing in your pride, you could rise so high...
Heaven was your home, where you did reside.

Most beautiful, talented too, others too heard your call.
Rebellion in Heaven, transferred to earth, did cause a great fall.

Then the angel did search, high and low.
Looking for someone to pay the price for sin you know.

For you the price could not be paid.
There was no one to come to your aid.
Because you had known all the glories of heaven it's been said.

But man had only known this earthly home.
Day by day walking with the Lord not knowing deceit did roam.

Catching Eve, you did whisper lies in her ears.
Drawing near Adam did partake of those starting tears.
Promising abundance, you laughed at in the beginning years.
You thought a battle you had won.
But time it had only just begun.
A lamb from the foundation, it was slain.
Death the price for sin, a plan had already been laid.
You laughed as man did follow you.
Laughed as from Eden man was cast out. Forgetting it is true.
Forgetting who it was who it was who created everything, including you.

When confronted you had no where to hide
-had no one to blame, so on your belly you'll glide.
Ever moving forward, moving toward that final decline.

You can not turn around, your pride help you up.
It is because of rebellion and pride you'll drink of that cup.
The cup of wrath, prepared just for you. You'll forever look up.

Walking to and fro, you are today, as a lion, seeking it's prey.
Deceiving, as you hope from that dreadful day you may stray.
Knowing there is no way.
Jealous, accusing of the brethren, you run to heaven each day.
How would this world be if you had never from your place strayed.

With each passing day, you know your time is short.
Playing with God's creation, has been such great sport.
But God he's been a watching things too.
And he has said, he will not be mocked, not even by you.

So God set up a way for the sin of Adam to be paid.
A price for this crime it was made.
Death, it was the price.
No, it was not nice.

The ransom was high.
So high that man could not pay, all creation did sigh.

But God found a way.
He found a way to pay.

Coming in a lowly way, as any other little baby.
Entering into a world, filled with decay.

-Just for you and me.

Walking the dusty streets filled with crimes.
Homeless, just as many wander the streets in our times.

A servant it is true.
Coming to pay for us what was due.

Walking beside us each and every day.
Working for the Father, knowing the price He was to pay.
Looking to the future, knowing just how to pray.
A price so high, he would pay, for a world filled with decay.
Wishing for some other way.
He did pray.

But, then he said, "Not my will but thine..."
Dying he paid for your sins, and mine.

Ripping the receipt from top to bottom, he did finalize the will.
Finally the ransom it was paid in full, no longer was it our heavy bill.

Paying in full from the hands of death He did leave.
Turning to mankind He said, "it is but a gift, will you receive?"

Because "He" truly loved us each and every one, He died.
His blood to the ransom note was tied.

Covering all, those who would but humble themselves from pride.
Accepting a gift worth more than any ransom holder's pride.
Reaching out "His" hand to you, "He"is calling.
Won't you answer that ring?
Don't wait too late.
You know the Devil's fate.
For him there is no way, having gone through the sealed gate.

Think about this as you read this rhyme...
the price only had to be paid in full one time.

It is not too late for you.
Because you are but a mortal walking here, had you no clue?

The price it was paid, it is true.
But the price it was paid for your immortal soul. This is true.

Think about the one who lost it all.
Think about the one who answer that call.
Paying the ransom, by giving "His" all.
Soon you'll see the Devil cast away.
Taken in chains to be confined in a fire that will never decay.

Rattle, rattle,
the chains of death are coming, have you entered the battle?

Did you know if you have accepted salvation, you have entered the battle?
The battle for the souls of mankind, it has already been won, the chains, are but a rattle.
The battle it has been won.
Have you met the victor? There is only one.

His name it is Jesus Christ.

There is no other name that will set you free.
He paid the ransom, for you, and for me.

The choice it is yours, this is true.
Remember who it is that loves you.

Loves you, so much that a way of escape was paved.
Do not an idle hand wave.
It is a price you can not pay.
There is only one way...
