So you want to live in the city, or maybe you already do.

What are the advantages's of living in a larger city?

 

Well let's see.

If your city is laid our right with plenty of sidewalks then you can save money on gas and car maintence by walking most places. This will also help you to stay within a healthy weight range.

Provided you are not over eating some place along your daily route.

If you are able to find a job within walking distance to your home and you have stores available within walking distance to your home. You will be saving quite a bit on gas and vehicle maintence.

So when vacation time comes around you will have a bit more money to spend or travel with than the average person who has to spend money all thru out the year on vehicle maintence and general wear and tear on their car.

You will only be spending a small amount thru out the year. Using your car only to go to stores that are out of walking distance, or for when you want to purchase more items than you can easily transport back to your home.

Okay, what are some other advantages's to living within the city? Besides most everything being within walking distance?

Well, if you live in an apartment and make friends with your neighbors, you will be able to have someone close by that you can go visit even if the weather is not fit for driving. Just walk down the hall.

By living within the city you will also have the opportunity to meet many people from many different backgrounds and cultures. This can be a way to learn about different people and customs from around the world without having to go to another country.

This can be good or this can be bad, depending on whom you are meeting and the personalities involved.

Another thing about living within the city is you will have more places available to you to go if you are the type that likes to go to arts type events, or museums, as these are usually located within cities.

And finally if you are of the persuasion to start your own business then you have a lot of ready made contacts, (depending of course on the type of business you are starting).


Living within a city can have some very good advantages, but as everything else there are disadvantages to everything. But we will save that for another article.
