Neuropaty of the Heart...a poem from 2010

Just a poem I wrote in January of 2010

Neuropathy of the Heart

Neuropathy of the heart can it be seen?
A painless death, stabs of grief shoot through the arteries veins.

A smile pasted and faded,
A heart carefully guarded and shaded.

Love it grows, it lingers, it slowly dies.
Neuropathy of the heart, could you not hear my cries.

Neglected and forsaken, basking in your self-induced troubles-
Not seeing the tears fall, I may as well sit in the rain, and blow bubbles...

You're giving into grief, and despair, pushing me away.
Neuropathy it's settling in my heart, frozen in place, I'll not stray.

Cold and distant you are.
Desiring perhaps to ride in some other car-

Having worked for naught, friendless and clueless, grief stricken and wasted, you've long ago acquired neuropathy of the heart.
No, plans, no hope, you desire only to part.

Ruled by your belly, many wants, seeing no need...
Many years past, soon words lost, advice you did not heed.

Neglected and vacant, I pick up your hand once again.
Cold and stiff, you turn away; I've no place in your heart.

Looking away, I pretend I don't see the neuropathy of your heart.
Smiling at you, I know you'll soon depart.

Youth having faded fast, living in dreams never to unfold...
Desiring to have but never to diligence could you hold--

Blaming another you refuse to look into the mirror, and see it is you.
Believing it is me, you've sown well the neuropathy that fills your heart, and my words you know are true.

Neglected love, untouched lovers, soon leaves the heart cold and still.
When you leave, I wonder will another dare to enter your place, will another's love thaw this chill.

You never saw me, only a tiny piece of a shattered heart did I lend.
For you I tried for awhile to believe, mistaken of you I did bend.

Now I look into the mirror and see time has come, and has gone.
Soon you'll be gone, no trace will be left, and grieving too soon it'd be wrong.

You see I want to believe this cold-heartedness you have towards me, is just a phase.
But my heart see's through the haze.

Perhaps I will be the one to leave.
I've acquired your heart; you've woven it fast to mine, lest in forever love I dared believe.

Neglected, vacant and cold...
Turning now, do you see? Words spoken in rhyme, a hearts neuropathy has been told.
