Pending Doom
Sitting alone in my room, I hear the noise, I hear the laughter, I hear the screams.
Sitting silently I listen as I write, I wonder will ever I see my dreams.
Tomorrow slips softly over to whisper in my ear, telling me things I wish not to hear.
Yet, I know I must, for today it is winding down, yesterday, it's faded and not so clear.
Sometimes I just want to close my eyes, and forget, forget everything I've heard, everything I've seen.
But how, how do you forget, when silence floods the day, rumors fill the night and everyone's forgotten to remove from their own eyes the beam.
Looking through the beam that is in their own eye, how is it believed their own eye contains but a splinter.
Turning away, I remember it is still winter --
