The Hand that Will Guide Us Home
This World it is Not My Home
Slow to anger, yet great in power, soon the clouds show us the dust.
The whirlwind, and the storm, fast moving heartache and turmoil, we see our trust.
The wicked He'll not acquit.
Many will soon see great power; the clouds will soon show it.
Forgiving us once, and again, remembering we are but flesh.
Holding us forever in His hand, soon our sin He'll thresh.
Purging our youthful pride, and sin He'll bring us into the blessed peace of righteousness.
Placing our feet back on the narrow way, He'll guide us as He's promised to bless.
Reminding us to keep our focus on Him alone-
He'll lead us all the way Home.
Slow to anger, ever patience, ever faithful, stepping in when our ways begin to cause another to stray.
Leading us with His rod, and staff, reminding us to pray-
Safely we'll trust in the love shown in His out stretched hand.
Taking safety under His wings, we'll rest even as we walk through this wicked and evil land.
Knowing He is just and faithful to lead us all the way home.
With God we are never truly alone.
Believing is easy when the days are carefree and light.
Trusting and believing is not so easy when the storms come swiftly in the night.
Safety is sure when we remember and truly believe on the finished workmanship.
Tomorrow we may never see, yesterday is gone, His grip it'll never from us slip.
Trust and obey, that is the only way.
Drifting away, many need to pray.
Fear not what man can do, for their power ends with our body.
Tremble and fear the One who has power to kill both the body and soul.
Remind us to be merciful to another, knowing we run a hard race.
Merciful, we must for it is only by His grace.
Tenderhearted we must remember even for other's He paid the full price.
Forgive another's transgressions, knowing our feet also have walked across thin ice.
Reach out to catch the hand of the one who is troubled and drifting away.
Knowing it is for many we must pray.
Hold fast to what you know.
For you have yet far to go...
