My Friend "Bug"
Do You Still Remember Me?
Look away, look far away.
Someone has never forgotten you.
Walking away it was done this is true.
Yet never will that time be forgotten, or where we used to play.
Silly children we were, playing all around that trailer park.
Never believing one day we'd be all grown and gone.
Playing in the dirt, making mud pies, laughing as the fireworks began to spark.
Hiding under the trailers watching as others searched, finally falling asleep on our own.
Believing we were grown, packing a sack of our favorite toys, tying this to a large walking stick.
Remembering to bring along our dogs, we start off over the fields towards the tallest mountain.
Stopping at a creek we wash our feet, and then we pick crab-apples from a tree, eating them till we are sick.
Growing tired we see no where to sleep so we wander around till dust. Then we sit on a stump, until we see many a lantern light coming towards our fountain.
Happy once again, we are home in bed asleep until next morning we awake, to explore once more.
Remember it wasn't so long ago, that we toddled out that door.
Yet now time and distance has separated dearest of friends.
I moved away, perhaps you stayed, will we ever really know in the end.
I was two, you were four, we were best buddies it's true.
I'll always remember you, do you remember me, I wonder this some days...
