"Frozen in Time" a poem from March, 2009,

I must have been thinking of my oldest son, when I wrote this, as I said March is a very difficult month for me, so I must have been thinking a lot about death.

Frozen in Time

Sudden Death

Time stands still.
Was this His will?

How could it be?
In a coffin we see.

How could this be?

Time stands still, was it just today?
Who can say?

Only this morning we had breakfast together.
The day has grown long, the seasons have changed.

The face in the mirror is weathered and old.
The body in the grave lies still, even as the spirit has let go it's hold.

Soon the face in the mirror will lay cold.
For the heart is growing cold.

No bitterness is there to be found.
Memories fade, as God's mercy abounds.

The night grows long, the winds whisper through the night.
Time stands still no more, fading from the light.

Somewhere in the darkness another's world stands still.
This is the reality facing those who have faced deaths chill.

The day has long since grown old.
The night is long spent, and now this story is told,
