This is a poem about living paycheck to paycheck, I wrote this in March 2009, I think I was worrying a lot about bills.
I'd really like to not die owing bills

Check to Check

One week to another,
Hold your breath.

 

 

Soon a check, late like the other
Soon 'twill be our death.

 

 

 

Living check to check.
Maybe we should just pass the deck.

 

But How?
Bills are due NOW.

Can't get sick.
Listen to the clock tick...

 

Check to check.
Pick up the deck.

To work we go
Death will wait, this we know...

How?

Cause we can't die.

The bills are due and this is no lie.
