| Walking Through the Night Walking through the night. Not a soul is in sight. Hearing no footsteps, you turn around. Silence so loud, your heart begins to pound. No one is watching, no one is talking. All is silent, was it you that was walking? Walking through the night. No one hears as the silence grieves your heart to a fright. Stepping into the shadows, the moonlight dances on the water. Slowly your eyes begin to tear, who's voice was it over there. Turning you see no one, only your own reflection, it is too much to bear. Suddenly you understand. It is your footsteps that make so sound. Your steps never reaching the ground. Death had came so suddenly, it was you who had died. While many shed a tear, your eyes were dry. You had no time to cry. Death so suddenly, who could know? Forever your footsteps are gone. Where did you go? Who can say? Where in eternity you are today. We pray in Heaven your footsteps fall. In Hell your name is not found at all. Friends, family and foes. All have came to glance one last time, on the shadow that was you. Tomorrow all will know,to where you have gone, this is true, Today, tears are dried away, for we must life today pursue. A life of ease ever just out of reach. Trouble's and trials, always our breach. One day, one step, and silence will follow. Turn around, it is for you the horn of death blows. Are you ready? For today, in eternity your footsteps will fall. Death, unexpectedly it comes to us all. |
