Relationships, a poem from April 2009

This is about relationships, about fake friends. This is about forgiveness about letting go, about walking away.

I wrote this in April of 2009

Relationships

Relationships are like cotton candy.
Too soon glued together.

Love is whatever you'd like it to be.
Like a rose, a river or ocean, beyond human comprehension.

Relationships come, and go
Who you thought you knew is soon a long forgotten associate.

Relationships are fickle.
It is best to remember to keep thoughts to yourself.

Shared thoughts misinterpreted cause many a harsh word.
Silence reminds us that our thoughts are our own.

Relationships like cotton candy,
sometimes need to be washed away.

Love is remembering,
love is forgetting.

Relationships come and go,
People who speak to you from the covering of their shells, are strangers, still.

Relationships strangers passing through a dark and lonely world.
It is best to remember silence is a valuable defensive skill.

Shared thoughts,
are sure to bring misunderstandings, cultic leaders desire confrontations.
Silence is the best defense when forgetting is hard to do.

Love is forgetting,
Love is remembering,

Two sides to every problem,
Two sides to every corner,
Two sides to every door.

Inside and out.
Where will the merry go round end?

Life is complicated.
People are strange,

Is it no wonder so many feel to be a hermit is ideal.
Life is strange, the wind has blown away the rains.

Perhaps one day pain will go away.
But for now we will just walk in silence along the way.

Silence the best defense against those who will twist or misunderstand.
And now I close my hand...
